Difficulty Level: Easy
Ingredients
- 1 cup freshly brewed black coffee
- ½ fresh lemon
- 1 teaspoon honey or sugar (optional)
- Ice cubes (optional for iced version)
- Lemon slice for garnish
- Fresh mint leaves (optional)
Equipment Needed
- Coffee maker or kettle
- Coffee mug or glass
- Spoon
- Lemon juicer (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Brew the Coffee
Prepare one cup of fresh black coffee using your preferred brewing method. You can use a drip coffee maker, French press, espresso machine, or instant coffee.
Step 2: Allow the Coffee to Cool Slightly
If serving hot, let the coffee cool for about one minute before adding lemon juice. If preparing an iced version, cool the coffee completely.
Step 3: Prepare the Lemon
Wash the lemon thoroughly and cut it in half. Squeeze approximately one tablespoon of fresh lemon juice into a small bowl, removing any seeds.
Step 4: Combine the Ingredients
Pour the lemon juice into the coffee and stir gently. If you prefer a slightly sweeter drink, add honey or sugar and mix until dissolved.
Step 5: Serve
For a hot version, pour the coffee into your favorite mug and garnish with a thin lemon slice.
For an iced version, fill a tall glass with ice cubes before pouring in the coffee mixture. Garnish with lemon and mint if desired.
